Brisbane Tattoo Artist Blogs // How life’s been going & what’s next ✨
I'm writing this blogpost for your eyes & curiosity over 3 locations/settings;
-First, Brisbane Domestic Airport
-Second, in flight on a Jetstar airline plane
-Third, my Melbourne Hotel room
In my last blogpost, I just let out whatever I was feeling at the time while I had a window of time to write it (which happened to be at the pub). Since then; I've drawn a few more Anatomy sketches (in which I love to share with anyone who asks or even accepts me shoving my sketchbook in their face to show). I hit a really cool stride with my tattoo work & my clients (thank you to everyone from this passed, 2nd quarter of the year, y'all are the best 🫶🏻), we had a flash day @Old Soul Tattoo which was so fun & a welcome calm chaos full of good spirit. I've been carving out time where I could to up-skill in the craft of creating Merchandise (thank you to everyone who grabbed a bit of Star Wars merch for May 4th ❤️🔥). Lastly, I FINALLY got my passport replaced after having it stolen some years ago (I am so F***in' keen to travel again)
I'm currently on my way to Melbourne for the birthday of some very good friends (Shouts out to the Bennos 🙏🏻), I'll be back in Melbourne for a longer swing in August this year, so apologies if I kept this trip quiet and don't get to catch up with friends, but I will be back in August for the goodest of times with the goodest of friends. As well & mainly, this trip is going to be a time for me to catch up on projects and other assorted bits of admin/work, so I'm keen to use this time coming up to lock in not feel so behind anymore
June is wide open & available for anyone keen on getting tattooed that's found their way here, I feel honestly a bit embarrassed about how available my June is, so I'm hesitant to even post availabilities because honestly, it's kinda fully available. July & August are looking to be pretty busy (August almost completely spoken for as of right now, fingers crossed that keeps 🤞🏻 ), so if you're looking to get that 'Tax Time Tatt', hit me up, all enquiries welcome :)
It's a crazy time of year for me currently, pretty much exactly a year ago my family suffered an extremely unexpected, deeply devastating loss which completely fractured us all. I continued to suffer loss (some sabotage from myself, the rest was just cruel timing) following this time, it was intense to say the least, still one of the hardest times in my life I've gone through.
I had to start again on social media, after losing everything (which sadly I've seen happen to a few folks & colleagues since), which is all when I started blogging. I knew it would help me with signalling traffic in a Google/SEO kinda way, plus I felt it was a good way to try find healing amongst catharsis and provide clarity on everything I was going through as I was trying to rebuild my life.
In hindsight, my hugest gratitude from my continuous losses throughout that time, is my support network whom deserve their roses and my eternal recognition. I couldn't have hoped for better friends & loved ones that have stayed genuine and supportive over the years, regardless of the bad times over the good times.
Looking back on how things developed since then when I started blogging (Seldomly, which I hope to improve), I've fought so hard to regain a quality in life. There were things I was invested in that didn't make sense to people back then or now ... I get it, I am sorry if my chaos was overwhelming or annoying to you while I was bouncing off the walls. Truthfully though, it doesn't have to make sense or be comfortable to anyone else, I'm doing this all for me & that's all that matters.
Those things I've had to do in life (especially in this passed year) that sound complicated & didn't make sense; If I look back on in hindsight, I'm deeply grateful those things in which I've been grinding for have really now started to bloom. One of which being; my venture into merchandising
I'm stoked & excited to continue with all my DIY upcoming merch projects, I'm even more excited on bonding further with my family in this venture. My immediate family have all become closer in the coolest way since I started to take on this Up-Skilling venture of merch printing. Especially between my brother & I, who are starting to work together to build something great for his family & ours. We're hoping to be completely operational with screen printing in the near future (I'm aiming for September), however, we are just really struggling in securing permanent space for the equipment, which is totally something we can sort, it's all just part of what's happening with that side of things
I wanted my next blog to regard being Vegan as a tattooer & I'd like to signal other like minded individuals with that as the next topic. As I was prepping to carve out my next available time to give my attention to making this blog, I realised it has been a hot minute since I wrote anything at all, so again, I've just made this as a bit of a catch up & link to what's all been happening since I last wrote a blog.
I'm hoping I can write that 'being a vegan tattooer' blog next, as well as give a bit of a catch up on how this Melbourne trip went. I haven't spoken much at all about my whole 'vegan' thing on here & I am very self conscious of being annoying with that. However, I think it has interest to be discussed & explored no matter how you feel on the topic, so it is important for me to have that out on here as soon as I can.
If you've made it this far, thank you. Your interest & attention is truly appreciated. To be honest, if you made it this far you're most likely a friend and you're doing what a friend does, which is checking in on their homie when they see them expressing themselves
As of Right Now, I've checked into my hotel, I've never been to Avalon Airport in Melbourne before tonight & JFC I never wanna do that again. It's soooooo far away from actual Melbourne & 11/10, I would not recommend.
An update on how my flight went; I booked an emergency exit seat for legroom & shared the flight with 5 cowboys from a property 3 hours out of Toowoomba who'd never flown before and their country charm was very lost on me. That's flying to travel experience though isn't it, annoying and always never over quick enough
Anyhoo, I'm here, you've followed me this far & I appreciate you
Talk soon <3
